You've heard of Jack in the box? Say hello to Joe in the cupboard. A handy storage unit for the 2 year old when daddy and Mike are about to lift the microwave into place and need a certain someone out of harm's way. Mommy would hold him but he has decided he is to grown up for that and mommy's other passenger is doing serious flip flops today. I guess Rory is excited about the cabinets too.

So here they are pretty much in place. The dishwasher will be here on Sunday and is going on the end of the peninsula. The counters won't be here til next Wednesday or Thursday.

A view from where the wall to the porch used to be. Note the little man by the frig turning the lights off and on.
So Monday the contractors are trimming the windows and putting baseboards down. Installing the dishwasher I hope. I think we have to wait for the counters before we can put the rest of the counter stuff together, backing and crown molding and all that good stuff. Oh I have a little tiny bit of painting to do and Ed is going to be removing the last little scrap of the porch wall and may be putting the sheet rock up. We are definitely getting down to the end of this project which makes us very happy. Knock on wood it has gone smoothly and Ed has certainly learned a lot about construction but I am sure he is eager to get back to work.
Love you all Nikki

It's me again LOL I was just looking at the pictures again and thinking about last summer and how Joey had to stand on a chair to reach the light switch...
Is there a backing for the island part of the kitchen...I can't really tell it may already be finished?!
Love again, Mom/Oma
WOW! It looks amazing!! You guys must be so excited.
I see Joe has himself a little boat there in the first picture - haha, so cute. If you ever can't find him, now I think you will know where to look!
